     Sarah Wofford witnessed For years a J. Pruitt and his wife Sarah and children lived near the Wofford's. No concrete evidence other than this census record. Her married name was Pruitt. She married (?) J. Pruitt. Sarah Wofford was born circa 1797.

     (?) J. Pruitt married Sarah Wofford, daughter of Nathaniel Wofford and Comfort Snow Pruitt.

     Absalom Wofford Jr. began military service on 15 June 1777 Information on Absalom from Patsy Childs: Absalom Wofford served in the Sixth and First Regiments from 15 June 1777 to 1 July 1781 and was taken prisoner. While in the Sixth Regiment during 1779 , he was under Captain John Buchanan. A.A. 8703, N. A. 246; N. A. 859. (South Carolina Roster of Rev. War Soldiers) He may have died in the war. He was born before 1754 at Maryland. He died after 1781. He ended military service on 1 July 1781.

He is listed as having two free white males over the age of 16, and one free white female. On the 1800 census he is listed as between the age of 26/45 and his wife is also between 26/45, with no children in the family. He was born after 1752 at Maryland.
